a pretty good strat for ZvT...

9/9 build a hatch near your choke
make another drone, make a spawning pool
set up a few sunkens - 2 or 3 only - near your hatchery as you start teching to guardians
wait for your creep to advance and set up a few more sunkens at the edge of your creep.
repeat this, so that you have very spaced out sunkens, in pairs of two, going down the stretch of your choke point.
once you have reached the end of your choke, put a sunken between each pair you have made.
throw up a few spores near your main in case of wraiths.

the point of this is, when your terran opponent sees sunkens, he will most likely start working towards tanks. however by spacing out the sunkens, he will have to siege/unsiege and slowly advance towards you. this takes longer than it seems, especially since you will be harrasing his tanks with lings and/or muties. by the time he breaks through, your guards should easily defeat his rines and tanks.

if he decides to go quick BCs, you should have your guardians before he has more than 1 or 2. potential problems are if he goes mass marines + ups, or wraiths... however most people wont go wraiths against zerg because of the overlords.

of course, this is all assuming that they are going to tank push you.

(which does happen the vast majority of the time).

i got a better strat.
u keep building up hatcheries + drones until u have about 20 hatcheries and 60 psi with drones only.
start making hydras and own them up
of course, u gotta hope that they dont scout you or attack you til then.

Stalife... u must sunk choke, otherwise rines will walk around, killing anything that isnt in sunken range. Becomes even more important on BW, when medics keep rines alive.

works vs a tank push, but a smart terran has easy counters

for example, fast drops (fbats or tanks)

or, as negro showed me, just mass rines and go quick armor (or armor/attack) and once youre 1-1 with range, your rines will easily wipe the shit out of those sunks.

marines with 1 armor take 3 hits from a sunk instead of 2, and when they're all swarmed together vs those spread out sunks, they just eat up zergies

lol.........a z can not surive w/o a choke sunk or quick lurks w/o going one of the other since this is orig the ladder isnt possible so u must choke sunk unless ur playin a newb ran but that start is easily owned espeically the spacing out by mass rines but espeically on bw they have medics

I dont usually space sunks out. I group them all together, and go right to fast mutas. You'd all be suprised to know that mutas will pwn a terran realfast. U just need some LT experience, and fast hands to weed out possible irridate. Guards work well too.

And if u sunk choke right, he wont get in, so all thats left is to worry about drops. very predictable.
