A small guide on how not to loose probes because of bats :)
1. Said firebat(s) are coming into you base :eek:.

2. You have a cannon or 2, but in this case, cannons are not enough. =/

3. Seeing the bats advancing toward your probies, hotkey both sides of the probes, totaling 24 (usually bat rushes are earlyer, and you probably wouldnt have more than 24 probes :)) then click quickly on a gas, sending all your probes to that gas.

4. If all the bats still arnt dead, keep going around your gases, the bats will chase and chase until killed by lots/cannons.

Thats a simple way to avoid getting owned by firebats. There are many many other ways to aviod probes, such as scattering. But this is the most efficient I think.

ive always moved to gas on drops bat rushes etc, but i never thought of actualy playing cat n mouse with them..good idea lol

Angel white already showed this strategy a while back.
Can't they just stop for a sec, then blast your probes when they return? Odds are if they are using firebats like that, they will be controlling them.

Hmm the best way i stop bat rushes is to spread probes out and attack the firebat(s).
Sure u might lose a few probes, but it will give u enough time to get ur units to kill the bats.
p.s. This prolly wont work against alot of bats!

Or if you know how to stack your miners , you can move them all quickly. :)
i always put a zealot//probe in my openent chocke or enter to the base....and when i see bats coming i hot key my probes and if i see theres no way i can stop it without losing probes im sending them away from nexus

ya sleet thats what i like 2 do or something similar because ur 1 or 2 cannons can finish before u lose many or u might not lose non.

The "best treatment is prevention" theory works wonders for me. I usually put 5 or so cannons at my entrance if I'm in the corner.
You are actaully better off killing the firebats rather than running from them. It takes some time for all your workers to be mining again.

yea but if you kill firebats, you will lose 7 or 8 probes, 7 minutes into a game it's not worth it

I don't think some of the members realize that workers stack on each other one at a time. This means that when an scv starts mining, and then gets the mineral cluster out, then the 2nd scv will finally start, and etc. for 50+workers. it's a good idea though, and I'll be using that.

ROFL.....u have 50 stacked = 50 scv,probes or/and drones will mini minerals at the time

Ummm, wrong. You'd know this if you played lt. Only one worker can mine one mineral field at the same time. When you select 12 and right-click on the minerals, you only click on the top one of the stack. So, as soon as that worker finishes and gets his minerals, the next one starts on the field, and the one that just finished goes to the next available one. It's because of this you should always spread your workers with at least some degree of hesitation.

you still need to move probes, 2 hits on each mineral side = all probes ded

Yeah, I had a ZvP vs Bloodstalkers where he continously tried to templar and reaver drop me, and while he never killed any drones, I was scattering them so often (like every 2/3 minutes) that I was broke almost the entire game because they wouldn't start re-mining fast enough. While it's obviously better to scatter your probes than it is to lose all of them, only scatter/run if it's absolutely necessary.
if they made that many bats and you have 12 zealots, you should just counter with zealots into the enemy's base, while you move ur probes and let the cannon kill the bats. with that many bats, strim pack is probably already upgraded, so no point in moving ur zealots back to main. just counter and it'll do just as much damage. (most bat rushers are so caught up in taking ppl's money they dont defend their base, or else it wouldnt be a fast rush)
when the enemy's good with control, chances are ur gonna lose most of ur probes when there's one or two cannons. so either move all ur probes to another base mineral, or try out-controllin the enemy.

by the time they had 5 firebats, i would have 15 carriers anyway.
