Arcade Tips?

If you know any arcade tips for specific games, share with all so we can continue to have newer, higher scores.

I'll post some once I see some participation in the thread.

For Space Invaders, use the first few levels to get as many lives and points as physically possible. Once you get down to one white alien, just wait and start killing red things, and only kill the last alien once he starts to get close (if you wait too long, you can lose). After you get to around 30k points and the guys start off really really close, take it one column/row at a time (up and down, I don't know the difference). Kill one entire up and down section of aliens at a time, then move on. This way if they shoot at you, you have time to move to the side without a threat of other aliens shooting too. I prefer working my way from left to right. Don't even worry about the red things at this point, just focus on killing all aliens as fast as possible. Once you get to around 30k points or higher, if the green protection blocks are still present, work on killing the left two, they'll just get in your way. You need to kill off the aliens ASAP or you'll lose if they get too close. Well... that's it from me...

For Helicopter just try and get used to it. And play it constantly unless someone will beat your highscore. *Looks at Killer.instincT* u flammer! :mad:

Ok for space invaders, just gotta chug through group through group, every time you take a whole one out you get 1000 points. Take out UFO's if you find it necessary, but I don't. Just stay on the right side and take them out column by column, making sure you dodge that columns little shitters, its really not that hard at all.

for chopper challenge: just get use it, its not that hard, just play it a bunch and youll eventually hit 1500+

for neverland thing, when there's a large group of kids. right click select play, it'll pause the game then shoot 'em all, right click again select play, hF...

i wonder how KeFu has such a high score -.^

for asteroids, dont sit in one place....EVER. just fly around and around non stop and just shoot away, in the beginning try to create less degree, but after maybe level 2 you wanna start making as much debree as possible because the little UFO's are a bitch.

also, pressing the shift key automatically teloports you somwhere randomly. incase you are about to crash i sometimes press shift. :)

edit: how do you move in asteroids? all i know is shift transports you. I don't like playing Asteroids but I do know how to play it. Easy answer.. to move you use the arrows on the keyboard: Left, Right, Up, Down.

Your only goal is to destroy all the space rocks and the UFO. Your ship is free to move all over the screen, but moving in the direction you want to go and the only way to stop is to go the other way or stop by its own momentum. Mastering this control is essential to staying alive and gaining high scores. As you get into higher levels the rocks move faster, and if you fire randomly then the screen can be filled real quick with small rocks, plus you would need to look for other spaceships firing at you. So the best thing you could do it break the rocks down 1 by 1.

The best way to sit is 3 inches from the bottom and 1 inch from left, when a spaceship comes out turn quickly and fire in 1 hit, with practice this can become really easy.

The spaceshuttles are not your main problem.. they come from either left or right.. rocks come from every direction, their your main problem.

but i almost never crash into rocks....its the stupid little ufo's that get me everytime. my high score of 57k in asteroids, in that game, i lost 5 lives within 2000 points because of little ufo's..... :)

For copying down the colours for Simon get a piece of paper and a good pen. Try to write all the letters in the same capitalization, perhaps LARGE. You don't want to have a combination of colours like BrbGy cause you'll most likely fuck up. :)

why paper? open up word, hit the restore button on your browser and on word, have simon take up half the screen, have word take up the other half. you can type while it comes out. and for most ppl, they type faster than they can write. :D

When playing in the higher levels of "Escape From Neverland" you right click and hit "p" on the keyboard. This will pause the game, eliminate the little kids by capturing them with "Left Click" then unpause. Repeat as long as you can..
The higher the levels are the more value capturing the kids become.

For Tetris, just start on level 10 and get mass tetrises. A tetris is 4 rows. Now anyone, get in the damn top 10.

Edit: A tetris on level 10 is 12,000 points if i remember right. The higher the level the higher the score. The speed doesnt go faster than level 10.

Awe....... who reset the Arcade Records? I had over 170,000 points in Pac-Man and now i see Kefu with his weak score of 70,000 as top score... haha.... Time for me to take it back....

Tips for PacMan- Dont let them chase you, it should be you chasing them. They can only go foward, whereas you can go forward and backward as you please, take advantage of that. Use special ball when neccesary or when they're all near each other. Dont trap yourself. Try staying still for awhile and see how they move about.

It's just funny how you care so much about doing a little arcade game "legitly" and using your mind and all this colour art code shit.. That's real awesome if you had a memory that expanded, I definately don't. But if you DO have an amazing memory to remember 50+ colours, your using the skill in the wrong way :)

it actually takes more skills than that..
if you cheat it this way, i am pretty sure it won't last you long, you would surely have a lapse in between no matter how hard you try to concentrate.

and for kefu, for simon, you just need to learn and practise, it really depends on how flexible and edurable you brain is.

so i actually take the effort? serioiusly, i don't find excuses, but my mouse can't move well horizontally, and therefore i miss a lot of ball shots. I was able to handle much faster when i use the comp in my uni, won't miss out any balls.
