Mac or PC

State what you preferr or what you think is better...
Macintosh or PC.

I preferr PC for gaming, but Macintosh is really good for working, music, and other stuff along those lines, great utility machines. PC's are great too because you can do a ton of stuff when them, easy to customize and what not.

Outcome: PC if main thing is gaming.
Mac if its for work.

My band uses a mac for recording and editing and stuff like that, but I use my PC at home for just about everything else, i plan on getting a mac laptop soon though.

From what I know isn't linux/unix only good for hosting servers and such because it is more reliable at that stuff. and that it is harder to operate and update than windows (which may be cool to brag about, but doesn't make it better).

and linux just seems like a thing that reg people dont need but just do it for like a "bragging" stuff

I prefer PCs over Macs just because I have used them 1000x more. I used to use Macs back in the day ('92-'95 probably), I think our mac has MacOS 7.something. It was a piece, but they are infinitely better now.

Macs have always been far better machines than PC's, especially with regards to detailed design and graphics.

However, the dominating use of PC's at homes and offices have made macs not too far off from redundant.

It's a PC monopoly......in other words, regardless how awesome macs can get, PC's will always be bigger.

I used to have a macintosh and it just seemed slow and sluggish, it was impossible to play games not only because of an inferior system, but an inferior system setup (only one mouse button). Um... it did have this program where the computer would read whatever you typed though. That was good fun.

But yeah... I think windows > MacOS, always seemed like a better, easier to use setup to me.

I love macs. They're so awesome and simple (when you get use to them). My friend is obsessed with Macs and Apple, he has such a nice mac, and I love to use it (even though I get lost sometimes). I used to have an old mac, ah, back in the good ole' times...

mmm actually mac is more user friendly. You may not agree because all u nerds and such who know way too much about pcs already know everything to do with pcs, but for beginers and less experience, mac is better and more user friendly.

I have 2 pcs, and i had an odl mac, but u no old comps suck so ya. Id have to go with slinky on this 1, pc for gaming and mac for working.

expose is one thing (press a button and all your windows will unclutter)
spotlight is another (you can search your whole computer including pdf files, etc)
quicksilver (press hotkey--window pops up and type program u want to launch, hit enter and it will open)

and for u right-click people, plug in any mouse in a mac and u can have right-click

PC with Linux owns....Most of the software is free and high quality. You can download a distribution of linux that comes with almost every piece of software you want. Unless you want games, then you need windows

I have used Red Hat Linux, SuSe Linux, and Slackware. All the software is free, there's maybe 1 linux virus for every 1,000 for windows, also once you get used to it, it's surprisingly easy to use.

No, there are not as many antivirus programs and such for Unix/Linux operating systems, but like i said there's really no need. And yes, most popular programs are made for Windows/Mac only.

Linux is actually probably the best OS out there, because less people use, better security, plus its more advanced, and if the use has good knowledge of computers, Linux would probably be best to use.
