Go to Start->Control Panel->System and it should say ## RAM

I only see appearance and themes, network and internet conections, printers and other hardware, user accounts, add or remove programs, date, time etc., sound, speech, etc, accesiiblity options and maintenece and performance..

Look on the left @ the control panel, look for "Classic View" and click it then click system

buy more, but make sure its compatible with ur motherboard, but 512 is a sufficient amount for most things, unless u want to get games like lineage 2 or bf 1942

most laptops(unless its a tricked out new one) dont have the capacity to run a game such as half life 2...graphics will be shitty and ull probably lag a lot

anyway what i'd do if i were you shoe, (assuming you've only got 2 slots) is buy a 512 and replace one of the two 256's then you should have enough for pretty much anything you may want.

Go outside and make sure the fence did not break and that it did not o'erleap it, then if it is still there, make sure that you keep it well fed, well well well well fed indeed, then you should get some more ram. Give it a female ram and then you should start getting more and more and more ram(s) ever year!
